For the last few years, I have been known as 100 beers. 30 days. In the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, & social media world, this has been my identity. All in all, under this moniker and beyond, I have reviewed over 800 beers. Whew!
It originated in 2009, with my first 100 beers. 30 days. challenge, where I charged out of the gate with 100 Stouts & Porters. Go big or go home, right?
Other challenges over the years have included:
- 100 Belgian & Belgian-style ales
- 100 American Craft Breweries
- 100 Barrel-Aged & Oak-Influenced beers
They have all been incredibly educational for me (and hopefully you too!) and most importantly have raised thousands of dollars & countless food donations for a variety of worthy causes.
Charities for the 100 beers. 30 days. challenges:
- New Orleans Second Harvest Food Bank
- Feeding America
- the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
- All About the Kids Foundation
- San Diego Food Bank.
If you haven't had a chance to peruse the challenges, please do! They are alot of fun.
It has been my honor to be featured in:
- San Diego Magazine
- Dining Out San Diego
- U-T San Diego
- Riviera Luxury Magazine
- Locale Magazine
- the cover of Westcoaster magazine
- the cover of Happy Hour
- featured in the Daily post of WordPress
- Draft magazine online
- Beer West magazine online
- The Coast News
- North County Times
- North County Sun
- The Times Picayune
- WWOZ radio in New Orleans
- Craft Beer Locator.
In addition, I've gotten to talk beer on KUSI News in San Diego, the acclaimed New Brew Thursday series, and Beer Nation.
I was the beer connoisseur at Happy Hour magazine for several years, and still star in three web video series, Beer Minute, Drink of the Week, and Laurie’s Beer World, which were featured at the Beer Book, Blog, & Video Fest in New York City.
And now...the journey continues!
